Production area information
The Thracian Valley in southern Bulgaria is the oldest wine-producing region in Bulgaria and is still the largest wine-producing region in Bulgaria.

In the southeastern part of the Thracian Valley, on the border between Turkey and Greece, there were many disputes and people could not enter for many years, so it was called "No Man's Land".

Catargena Winery has turned a section of the Thracian Valley at the foot of the Eastern Rhodope Mountains into a biowine field. It is a cinnamon forest soil* , the perfect environment for making biowine.

The twin winemakers Kishov did not set out to make biowine as a trend. In addition to complying with EU organic regulations (no use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc.), we are also working on biodynamic farming, which is also anthroposophical.

Livestock eat the grass in the vineyard, and the feces eventually become soil due to the action of microorganisms, and the vines grow vigorously in the virtuous cycle of life. Although it takes effort and time, the "Callisto" series has been released after many years of planning to grow grapes in harmony with nature and create biowine from them.

The wine, which was born from a fusion of organic methods that do not add extra work to the fields and biodynamics that seeks harmony with nature and the universe, has a finish that spreads the flavor of the grapes straight as expected.

*Cinnamon forest soil is one of the classifications of podzol soil, and is named Cinnamon forest soil in English.
