Busuioaca de Bohotin grape

Busuioaca de Bohotin is a grape variety originating from Bohotin Village, Iași County, Romania.

Wines made from this grape tend to have aromas reminiscent of rose petals, basil, or strawberries.

Traditionally, this variety has been used to produce sweet and semi-sweet wines, but in recent years, dry and semi-dry styles have also become more common.

In Romania, there are currently approximately 670 hectares of Busuioaca de Bohotin vineyards. According to ONVPV (National Office for Vine and Wine Products), it is most widely cultivated in the vineyards of Huși (427 ha), Cotnari (128 ha), and Dealu Mare (87 ha).
