The Republic of Moldova has a long-standing tradition of wine production and is known as one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world. Located in Eastern Europe, Moldova benefits from favorable geographic and climatic conditions for growing grapevines and producing quality wines.
Moldova’s vineyards stretch across rolling hills with fertile soils and a moderate continental climate. The most renowned wine regions include Codru, Valul lui Traian, Ștefan Vodă and Purcari, famous for their high-quality grapes and wines with distinct aromas and flavor profiles.
Moldova is celebrated for its red wines, particularly those made from grape varieties such as Fetească Neagră, Rara Neagra and Saperavi. Moldovan reds are appreciated for their rich dark fruit aromas, smooth tannins and balanced body.
The country also produces high-quality white wines from Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Feteasca Regala, known for their freshness, floral aromas and fruity notes.
