The 2018 vintage was a landmark year for Jidvei Winery in Transylvania—hailed as the finest in the last three decades. Even more extraordinary, it marked the return of ice wine after a 7-year wait, made possible by perfect natural conditions. In the world of wine, this was nothing short of miraculous.
Jidvei’s 2018 Ice Wine debuted at the prestigious IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition) in 2019—often dubbed the Olympics of wine. It was the first time a Romanian ice wine entered the competition, and it made history. Scoring an outstanding 96 out of 100 points, it claimed a well-deserved gold medal.
This triumph was just the beginning. The wine went on to win accolades at other international competitions, securing its place among the world’s finest ice wines. A true Romanian success story on the global stage.

Appearance
Golden in color, with crystal-clear brilliance and exceptional radiance.
Nose
Delicate and luxurious, revealing aromas of ripe yellow peach, quince preserves, rose petal jam, mango, and acacia honey.
Palate
Remarkably balanced, with vibrant acidity that perfectly complements its natural sweetness. Refined flavors of European melon, mango, ripe apricot, and aged honey unfold gracefully on the palate. A rare harmony not often found in ice wines.
Food pairing
Pairs beautifully with cheeses, foie gras, seafood, Thai cuisine, and fruit-based desserts. Also enjoyable on its own as a refined dessert alternative.
