Tasting notes
- Appearance
Ruby-red. - Nose
On the nose, it reveals pleasant aromas of black cherries, dried plums, blackberry jam, and ripe blackcurrants. In the background, notes of pine, vanilla, and a subtle hint of smoke from oak barrel aging make their presence felt. After a few minutes, bitter chocolate, caramel, and a touch of iron complete the aromatic spectrum. The rich nose showcases the high complexity of this wine, which is quite rare in this price range. - Palate
The tannins are softer than on the first day, and the texture has become somewhat more velvety. The sweetness of sour cherries and hints of cloves become more pronounced. - Food pairing
Roasted pork, cold cuts, cabbage rolls, hamburgers, beef teppanyaki, sansho teriyaki, steamed amberjack marinated in miso.
