Elevated to the ranks of world-class wines, this Chardonnay offers remarkable aging potential, promising to evolve beautifully over time. Together with its equally impressive Aligoté counterpart, it highlights the extraordinary winemaking potential of the Dobrogea region.

Tasting notes

Appearance

A healthy, radiant medium lemon color with golden hues.

Nose

The vibrant, fresh primary aromas harmonize beautifully with the refined secondary aromas, unveiling a remarkable complexity. Layers of wildflowers, elderflower, grapefruit, pear, peach, pineapple, lychee, lemongrass, citrus fruits, and apple are enriched by a distinctive mineral character from the limestone soils, evoking wet stones and flint. Buttery nuances from malolactic fermentation, the comforting scent of freshly baked bread from sur lie aging, and sophisticated hints of vanilla, toasted almonds, coconut, and nutty notes from barrel aging add depth and elegance.

Palate

Dry with moderately high acidity, this wine strikes a perfect balance with its medium alcohol content and medium (+) body. The flavors are bold and unforgettable, delivering a voluminous mouthfeel and an exceptionally creamy texture. The slightly elevated acidity adds a vibrant edge, bringing the wine into perfect harmony. Assertive tropical fruit notes are seamlessly integrated with subtle oak nuances, adding layers of elegant complexity. Dominant characteristics include flinty mineral tones, nutty hints, and brioche-like richness. The finish is long, smooth, and impeccably refined, leaving a lasting impression..

Food pairing

It pairs wonderfully with dishes such as chicken in butter cream sauce, carbonara pasta, mushroom dishes, butter-steamed clams, miso-marinated cream cheese, and creamy crab salad.
