Tasting notes

Appearance

A bright garnet color with shades of red-purple.

Nose

The aroma is very rich and complex. You can detect ripe sour cherries, plums, blackberries, blueberries, raspberry jam, and nuances of oak-derived cloves, cinnamon, black pepper, and chocolate. About 20 minutes after uncorking, notes of sour cherry jam become more pronounced. Hints of wet wood after rain, leather, farmer's garden, and tobacco leaves are also present in the background.

Palate

The characteristics of the grape variety are well expressed. It has a supple and soft attack with ample tannins, yet there's no roughness on the palate. The moderate acidity neatly ties all the elements together. The subtle oak aroma and gentle spices meld harmoniously, creating a well-balanced wine with a moderate volume. Overall, it has a rounded flavor profile. The finish is medium in length and continues gently. Similar to the aroma, the taste also evokes sour cherries and sour cherry jam.

Food pairing

With its supple texture and warm flavor, this wine pairs well with a variety of dishes and can be a versatile addition to your dining table. It particularly complements dishes like spaghetti Bolognese, salami, assorted cold cuts, and liver pate.
