About the Winery
Founded in 2014, Stori Winery is located in the Tsinandali district of the Kakheti region, eastern Georgia. Although small, Stori aims to revive Georgia's traditional winemaking techniques, focusing on unique flavors and high quality, gaining recognition among wine enthusiasts worldwide.
They use only grapes from their own vineyards, producing wine exclusively with traditional qvevri cellars. Nearly all grapes are organically cultivated, with minimal use of preservatives.
Qvevris (clay vessels) are buried underground, naturally stabilizing temperature and allowing for a steady fermentation process. After fermentation, the qvevri is sealed, allowing an additional 2-6 months of skin contact.
When opened, approximately 30% of the clear, top layer of wine (referred to as the “first fraction”) is bottled and exported.
