It also holds further aging potential.

The grape

It's an original Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated exclusively in Romania. It utilizes two clones developed locally: "CL 7" from the Dragasani Institute and "CL 4" from the Iasi Institute, each contributing 50%. Some growers consider these two clones the most suitable for Romania's terroir.

  • Appearance
    Deep garnet color with ruby hues.
  • Nose
    The aroma is incredibly rich, with notes of blackberry, black cherry, Morello cherry, cassis, black currant, blueberry, eucalyptus, cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, roasted cocoa, coconut, mint, pine forest, cedar, charred wood, smoke, and nuances of tobacco leaves and leather.
  • Palate
    The wine has a full body with rich tannins and intense fruit flavors. The perfect balance between the structural components and the long-lasting finish confirms its outstanding quality.
  • Food pairing
    It pairs wonderfully with roasted lamb, beef ragout, black truffle pasta, aged cheese, and black chocolate.

Additionally, the minimum temperatures recorded were very low in winter (-15°C) and spring (-3°C). The climatic factors of this year allowed for a uniform ripening of the grapes, which were harvested at full maturity towards the end of September. The lack of rainfall in August-September contributed to a healthy harvest.
