The maker

Igor Ganea, the founder of the winery, grew up watching his grandfather and father make homemade wine. Captivated by the mystery of how grapes transform into wine, he dedicated his life to viticultural research, striving to craft high-quality wines.

The wines he created in his youth quickly gained recognition among family, friends, and neighbors, moving beyond personal consumption and evolving into a successful business. By sourcing grapes from trusted partner growers, Ion began producing a diverse range of blended wines, which he distributed throughout Moldova and on international markets.

[Land of Basarabia] is a project launched in 2016 in the Ștefan Vodă region of southeastern Moldova. This brand champions a clear philosophy: to fully harness the unique character of each grape variety.
