- Country of origin: Romania
- Producer: Jidvei
- Type: white / medium-dry
- Grape variety: Pinot Gris 100%
- Classification: DOC-CMD Tarnave-Jidvei
- Readiness for drinking: now~2028
- Price range: 2,000~2,999 Yen
Tasting notes
- Appearance
Pale-gold with lemon-yellow reflections. - Nose
On the initial nose, I detect lightly roasted almonds, beeswax, ripe pears, white peaches, and subtle hints of chervil. - Palate
The taste is relatively simple, clearly dominated by fruitiness. Somewhere in the background, there are also some hints of nuts. We're dealing with a pleasant, lively, and very well-balanced wine. I confidently recommend it for hot Japanese summer days. And if possible, somewhere along the Pacific coast to match the label. - Food pairing
The most successful combination I've ever tried with this wine was grilled chicken breast marinated in sweet soy sauce (Kyushu style). It pairs well with dishes flavored with Japanese spices, yakitori with salt, or white fish.
