The area benefits from significant temperature variations and is blessed with a favorable natural environment, making it an ideal wine-producing region. While the vineyard area is relatively small and mass production is not feasible, many high-quality wines unique to the Moravia region are produced.
Obelisk Winery adheres to a traditional philosophy and prioritizes sustainability in its production methods. They refrain from using pesticides and primarily harvest grapes by hand.
Tasting notes
- Appearance
A radiant, pale gold color. - Nose
The aroma is rich and refreshing, with hints of citrus (lemon, lime), apple, pear, and persimmon. - Palate
It has a refreshing acidity with a thick, smooth texture. The prominent fruitiness reminiscent of pear is striking. Alongside a green impression, there's a solid acidity, leading to a clean finish. Hints of cream and French baguette nuances can also be detected. - Food pairing
Ideal pairings include marinated seafood, fresh salads with chicken breast strips drizzled with lemon and olive oil, yakitori, grilled fish, processed meats (ham, bacon, etc.), dishes with mustard-based dressings or dips, and raw oysters with freshly squeezed lemon.
