Introductory notes

This wine highlights the character of the Fetească Neagră very well. I confidently recommend it to anyone looking to begin their journey into the beautiful world of this Romanian variety. The quality-price ratio is excellent, with the wine offering a lot in this segment.

Maturation in small oak barrels was used to add complexity and elegance while preserving the grape variety's character intact.

Tasting notes

  • Appearance
    Ruby-red.
  • Nose
On the nose, it reveals pleasant aromas of black cherries, dried plums, blackberry jam, and ripe blackcurrants. In the background, notes of pine, vanilla, and a subtle hint of smoke from oak barrel aging make their presence felt. After a few minutes, bitter chocolate, caramel, and a touch of iron complete the aromatic spectrum. The rich nose showcases the high complexity of this wine, which is quite rare in this price range.
  • Palate
The tannins are softer than on the first day, and the texture has become somewhat more velvety. The sweetness of sour cherries and hints of cloves become more pronounced.
