The Daniel's Wine Club Team 🍷

Azerbaijan, a country nestled on the shores of the Caspian Sea, is a 7,600 km journey from Japan. Covering an area of 86,600 square kilometers, about a quarter of the size of Japan, it's a land of diverse landscapes and rich culture. With a population of 10 million and its vibrant capital in Baku, the country's language, Azerbaijani, is closely related to Turkish and Turkmen.

One of Azerbaijan's most striking features is the contrast between the remnants of ancient trade routes and modern architecture.

Situated in the Caucasus, alongside Georgia, Azerbaijan is considered one of the birthplaces of wine. The history of wine here dates back to 7,000-6,000 BC when clay vessels called kvevri were discovered. Azerbaijan thrived in wine production and was a critical stop on the Silk Road.

The wine industry significantly declined during the Soviet era. However, after gaining independence, Azerbaijan began to revive it, focusing on revitalizing its wine industry and resuming wine production.

In this set, we present one red and one white wine, each representative of the Azerbaijani wine industry.
