What is Histria?
The winery's name is derived from the ancient city of “Histria" in the southeastern part of Romania. The city of Histria has a history of 2,700 years and was founded by ancient Greek settlers in the 7th century BC. In the ancient Roman era, it was thriving through trade. Grape cultivation has also flourished since that time, firmly establishing a rich wine culture in the entire region of Dobrogea. The name of the Winery is an homage to the Greek ancestors.
What is Ammos?
Ammos means "sand" in old Greek. Grapes have been cultivated, and wine has been produced in this region since ancient Greek times. Additionally, most of the soil in this region is sand. Ammos represents respect for the environment and the ancestors of the Dobrogea Region.

From the moment it's uncorked and poured into the glass, a rich aroma fills the air. The predominant aromas are ripe black fruits, including plum, black currant, blackberry, sour cherry, and cassis jam. As it unfolds, notes of cocoa, smoke, fig, tobacco, clove, nutmeg, damp earth, leather, and nuts emerge. - Palate
This blend combines Cabernet Sauvignon with a native Romanian grape variety known for its black fruit notes. It has a solid structure and intense flavors. Rich aromas from the barrel and bottle aging are evident. The primary fruit aroma is still lively, with a hint of freshness. The acidity and tannins have matured well, resulting in a smooth mouthfeel. Despite its concentration, the moderate alcohol content makes it easy to drink. The tannins are firm, yet the texture is very soft. While being dry, there's a fruity sweetness enveloping the acidity. The finish is exceptionally long, allowing you to savor the lingering flavors for minutes after each sip. - Food pairing
This wine pairs well with dishes featuring black truffle, teppanyaki-style Wagyu beef, meatloaf, roast beef, and seared steak bowl with a moon-viewing sauce.
