What is Ammos?

"Histria" was a Greek city on the west coast of the Black Sea, near the mouth of the Danube. Founded by Greek settlers in the 7th century BC. Histria Winery is named after its history.

Ammos means "sand" in Greek. Grapes have been cultivated and wine has been produced in this region since ancient Greece. Also, most of the soil in this production area is sand. Ammos pays tribute to the environment in which the grapes were grown and to our Greek ancestors.

Wine overview
A wonderful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the King of the World and Feteasca Neagra from the Princess of Romania. A well-balanced wine in all respects. You can expect it to develop beautifully by laying it down for a few more years. This is a highly recommended wine for wine collectors, as the price is likely to rise in the next few years.

Tasting notes
  • Exterior
    Deep ruby color with garnet.
  • Scent
A rich aroma spreads from the time it is poured into a glass after uncorking. Aromas of ripe black fruit dominate. Aromas of plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, sour cherry and cassis jam. Blooms are scented with cream, cocoa, smoked, fig, tobacco, clove, nutmeg, damp earth, leather and nuts.
  • Taste
A blend of black fruit Cabernet Sauvignon and Romanian indigenous black fruit varieties. The skeleton is solid and the blend is finished with a sense of concentration. You can feel the rich aroma of barrel aging and bottle aging. The first nose, the fruity notes, is still lively and fresh. The acidity and tannins are well matured, and the mouthfeel is round. The alcohol content is moderate, so it's easy to drink even if it's condensed. The tannins are strong, but the texture is very round. Good acidity supports the whole. It's dry, but you can feel the sweetness of the fruit, and it wraps around the acidity. The aftertaste is very long, and you can enjoy the lingering taste slowly even after a few minutes.
  • Others
