Babeasca Neagra
Băbească Neagră is one of Romania's most iconic indigenous grape varieties. Currently, 133 synonyms have been identified, and in neighboring Moldova, it is known as Rara Neagră.
Wines made from this variety are characterized by their rich fruitiness and soft tannins, resulting in an approachable and easy-to-drink style. Aromas of red fruits and violets emerge beautifully, producing wines reminiscent of Pinot Noir, Kadarka, or Blaufränkisch. This is why we often refer to it as “Romania’s Pinot Noir.”
