Introduction

Crafted from 47 years old Merlot vines, this wine is truly remarkable. Given the high likelihood of a price increase in the coming years, it comes highly recommended for wine collectors. You can expect it to develop beautifully by letting it mature.

Tasting notes

  • Appearance
    Deep ruby with garnet hues.
  • Nose
A rich wine with high complexity. Aromas of black currant, black cherry, plum, blackberry, sour cherry and blueberry, completed by nuances of chocolate, cacao, earth and coffee.
  • Palate
A very elegant Merlot with a nice balance of fruit and acidity. Rich in tannins, but very fine and velvety on the palate. Aftertaste is very long. Complex and expressive. A very high quality wine.
  • Food pairing
Wagyu beef teppanyaki, Genghis Khan, aged cheese.
  • Conclusions
The quality level is outstanding. It's enjoyable to drink now, but the potential for aging is exceptionally high. The suggested drinking window ranges from the present to 2040. Truly a standout among Romanian wines.
