Romania, Wine Country

Romanian Vineyard

Romania is home to over 800,000 grape producers, representing about one-third of all grape producers in the EU. According to 2023 data from the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine), Romania’s vineyard area covers 187,016 hectares, making it the 8th largest globally.

With over 100 grape varieties, Romania produces 459 million liters of wine annually, ranking 11th in the world. Approximately 96.82% of this wine is enjoyed domestically, while 3.18% is exported.

Romania also holds 45 EU-recognized geographical indications (DOC and IG).

Supporting the industry, the country offers 17 educational programs in viticulture and winemaking, providing EU-accredited master’s and doctoral degrees.

Romania, a Pesticide-Free Country

Romanian vegetables and fruits are grown in an exceptionally clean natural environment. Farmers often use traditional methods, resulting in the lowest levels of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Romanian agricultural products are considered relatively safe. By choosing Romanian wine, you help protect both the environment and the consumer.

Daniel's Wine Club proudly offers genuine natural wines grown in a clean, pesticide-free environment.
